We’ve heard a lot of times that beauty comes from the inside and I totally agree with that and today I want to talk to you about something that you’ve asked me a lot of times, and that I promised you in my Insta Stories I was going to do: my favorite supplements for skin glow.
Before we continue with this I need to emphasize the importance to go with your doctor before trying any of these supplements. As you know I always recommend what works for me, but it doesn’t necessarily mean that all these things will work exactly the same for everyone, so lets not forget being responsible about what we consume.
There’s no way that you can have a glowing and healthy skin if you don’t have the necessary nutrients, without them your skin can not restore itself or keep its health, so that’s why nutrition is the foundation for beauty and we all should be careful with what we consume. A healthy diet, that includes super foods and super herbs becomes a must, but sometimes even the healthiest diet requires a little boost and here’s where the supplements come:
VITAL REDS, GUNDRY MD.

Collagen has multiple benefits: increases energy, helps with muscle recovery, maintains a healthy skin and helps your hair a nails to grow, so what’s not to love about it?
MOON JUICE – BEAUTY DUST | BEAUTIFYING ADAPTOGENIC BLEND FOR SKIN

BRAIN OCTANE

Basically this supplement keeps your brain on full blast, improves your immune system

FIT 9 PILLS BY SASCHA FITNESS

This supplement is a fat loss support that helps in a safe and natural way. Thanks to its composition, it’ll help to improve your hormonal balance and to speed your metabolism, using fat as fuel.
SKIN NUTRIENTS BRIGHTENING BY GLISODIN

The ingredients in this skin lightener will help reduce oxidative stress and inhibit the enzymatic process that produces brown spots, while reducing blemishes.
So, these are my top seven favorite supplements and the ones I’m currently using, however I also recommend to do some research and select the ones that suit your skin best and keep trying and using new ones as your skin’s needs keep changing trough the seasons and trough your life.
Do you have supplements that you absolutely love and are like magical for you? Would you mind sharing them with me?

Have you noticed that summer is just around the corner? Have you started to feel the unique summer’s vibe? I have! And I’m so excited to start sharing with you all the things that are made just for summer and I want to start with sandals.

I absolutely adore shoes, I think they can completely change an outfit and I also think that certain types of shoes represent certain seasons, and for summer there couldn’t be nothing else but sandals! I know that this social distancing has been hard on some and that the constant stream of news can really take its toll on your mood and your wellbeing, and that’s exactly why it’s so important to give yourself a break from all the stress. So consider this your “stress-free” moment, specially if you love shoes!
I’ll share the models I’m loving this season and I’ll also show you another option you can think of getting, because really who doesn’t like having options and more options?

This was another collection focused on going back to the essentials, the brand’s core, and as the other brands have done during this Couture Season, Alexandre Vauthier’s return to the brand’s core is translated into pieces of undiluted beauty and exhuberance.
In its short film we can see the models on the street, or on a club, shots alternating between Paris and the Hamptons, a rock chic vibe mixed with freedom, evident. The palette of black, blazing pink, green, purple and gold that gave the whole collection a certain air of eccentricity. The collection had 24 looks with feathers, ruffles, sparkles, sequins and vibrant colors everywhere.

I thought this collection was made to celebrate and dance all night, maybe with a little reminiscing from the 80’s. “It was great to see that things were possible despite an extreme situation. I didn’t want to leave anyone [on my team] behind, and I also needed to dream.” Said Vauthier, and I guess we all can identify with that need to dream and explore new possibilities and keep creating at the same time.
My two favorite looks were these ones:

With this bold purple dress I’m sure I’d party all night long feeling free and pretty and with the other look I can see myself walking through Paris again, it’s so ad hoc! What about you? What looks would you choose from this collection and where would you wear them?

So far, I think we’ve been seeing a certain “return to the origins” of all the brands that have been participating in this Fall 2020 Couture, and Giambattista Valli’s show was no exception to this trend, returning to its essence and presenting what seemed endless yards of tulles and chiffons, in a show dedicated to “La Ville Lumiere” or The City of Light: Paris itself!

One of the things that I liked the most about this show, was the mix between closeups of his creations and shots from his Iphone that let you lose yourself in the mini film and the beautiful dresses that have become the new fantasy for a lot of us, as they frame an hyper feminine silhouette. And being completely honest, what woman doesn’t love to let that hyper feminine side of her go out and play from time to time? And that’s exactly what Valli’s show seemed to me: an invitation to embrace the exuberance of our very feminine side. “In the horror of what we’re passing through, there was beauty blooming at the same time,” the designer said, and through his collection, he has invited us all to celebrate beauty and why not? life itself.

My two favorite looks? This white creation that seems made of a piece of cotton candy that is absolutely gorgeous and this pink one, with yards and yards of tulle in a sweeping waterfall skirt. With any of these designs I find it difficult for any woman to feel anything but feminine and completely alluring herself!
I want to heat what you’re thinking about Fall 2020 Couture so far, what have you loved the most about this new experience? Maybe by the end of the week I’ll tell you what was my absolutely favorite thing of this season!

The first show of the day today, was Chanel, a show I was kind of impatient to see and I must tell you that it went beyond my expectations. “I was thinking about a punk princesscoming out of ‘Le Palace’ at dawn,” said Virginie Viard, and what a way to accomplish her vision! Le Palace was the Studio 54 of Paris, a nightclub where big personalities like Mick Jagger, Jean Paul Gaultier, Grace Jones and Andy Warhol among many others, partied all night from 1978 to 1983.

And the result was an outstanding collection, opulent, vibrant, sophisticated and unapologetical, full of fancy dress parties, high jewelry and simply spectacular shoes. As Virginie Viard said, this was a collection inspired by the iconic Karl Lagerfeld and you can’t help but think about him when seeing the deeply textured and colorful tweeds and the big and bold retro looks.

The collection was presented in a very short and bold video that captures essentially five looks shot on just two models, although the whole collection is of 30 looks, and I was completely fascinated by the pieces shown, because it wasn’t just the perfectly crafted pieces, but a combination of accessories like shoes and high jewelry that created an experience completely hypnotizing where I couldn’t help but think about a party…. and all the parties I’d love to attend with more than two of the pieces I saw in the show.
As difficult as it was for me, my absolute favorite look were this two:
This dress was completely gorgeous! Elegant, sophisticated, the kind of dress that turns you into a punk princess (as intended) immediately and without effort. And can we please talk about the absolute perfection of the shoes of the second look? Definitively this was a collection very much expected and completely loved once I saw it! Which one was your favorite look? I’d love to know what all of you think about this show.

My next show for today (July 6th if you’re reading this later) was Ralph & Russo’s show and it was amazing! I’m enjoying very much the way every house is showing what makes them unique and reminding us through every step the things we love about the brand.
Ralph & Russo presented their muse for this collection: Hauli (a traditional Swahili name signifying strength and power). What’s different about this muse? That she’s an avatar! Tamara Ralph commented: “Hauli is so much more to us than the means to show digitally this season; she represents the brand and all of the values that we stand for. She is the ultimate modern woman; fusing both old and new, elegance and strength, and stands with the brand as a positive force for change”. And I don’t think that there’s a better way to describe Hauli, you need to see her to be able to appreciate what she transmits!

And if that was not enough Hauli presents the collection against the seven contemporary wonders of the world: Petra, Taj Mahal, Chichen Itzá, Machu Picchú, Christ the Redeemer, Great Wall of China and the Colosseum. And the effect when mixing technology and nature, creates a different kind of fantasy.

The collection was outstanding, and although due to the pandemic it was impossible to have the 52 pieces of the collection tailored, we are able to see the 52 sketches of the whole collection, and I’d recommend that if you want to remember the artistic part of fashion, see each one of these sketches and pay attention to the level of detail in each one, look how each feather was meticulously drawn and placed where it should be, how each fold is measured and placed exactly where it needs to be, who said fashion is nor art? (And how is it you make a sketch glow?)
My two favorite pieces of this collection were the ones featured in the Colosseum and Christ the Redeemer.

There’s only one word to describe this white dress: astonishing. I’m sure that a lot of women started fantasizing with this dress (me included of course!) exactly the way we used to fantasize about that perfect dress when we were just little girls!

And this little pink dress, looks sweet and fierce at the same time. And I think that would be the perfect way to describe this collection: beautiful, inspiring and strong.
Did you see this show? And the sketches? Which were your favorite pieces? Were you as excited as I clearly am?

Definitively this was no ordinary Couture Fashion Show, there were no catwalks, no customers, editors, celebrities or stylists gathered at one venue, instead we were transported to a fairytale garden and we were able to see mermaids, nymphs, fairies and a magical trunk that looked like Dior’s Avenue Montaigne headquarters, and inside this trunk the most amazing pieces scaled-down to look like a doll’s size, but as detailed as any other model-size gown, as we all could see at the beginning of the short movie, titled (very aptly I think) Le Mythe Dior.
What can I say? Dior’s always been one of my favorite brands and I’ve always enjoyed their shows in past fashion weeks and I need to tell you this show, as completely different as it was, was not the exception and I’m actually excited with the collection and the way it was showed.
The film was inspired by the “Théâtre de la Mode” that was an exhibition during 1945 were designers decided to show the most beautiful and detailed representation of fashion splendor, “perfection in miniature” using 1:3 mannequins instead of real women. This exhibition was a way to show the world what the designers and their ateliers were capable of in order to reignite an industry so damaged by World War II. And precisely that spirit is what you can see in Maria Grazia’s interview, I particularly loved to hear her say that she was excited by this new way to work with couture, excited to find all the new and different possibilities that were there waiting to be discovered, to keep the same emotion as attending the actual show. And I must say Dior did it!
For this collection, she was inspired and influenced by Surrealist authors like Lee Miller (photographer), Dora Maar (photographer) Leonora Carrington (painter) and Jacqueline Lamba (painter), all of them recognized artists in their different fields. “Surrealist images manage to make visible what is in itself invisible,” said Maria Grazia.
And we can see this influence in that certain etherealness of the pieces presented, silks and volume, embroidered tull, chiffons and laces, all these materials belonging to fairy tales and adorned with feathers and floral embroideries, completely impossible to resist, as even the mermaid picked a gown by the film’s end.
My favorite piece was this midnight blue shantung hand-pleated and fringed coat. Trivia fact: three petites mains worked for a total of 150 hours on this coat and it required 35 meters of fabric!
The magic of this online event is that you can see everything I’m describing to you! And I’d really recommend you to watch the film, as it only takes 10 minutes, and its beauty is really something worth seeing, you can go to dior.com and watch it and once you finish watching it and reading the information that you’ll find there, why don’t you tell me what you think about it?

Yes! The Haute Couture Fall-Winter 2020-2021 Collection is just about to start next Monday, 6th July, and I’m so happy and excited! This edition will be completely different to what has traditionally been, as the brands will show their collections online, due to the situation with the pandemic we’re going through, and I think adapting the format of an event of such magnitude, is the perfect example of the saying “The show must go on”.

I agree that seeing the shows on line doesn’t compare to experiencing Fashion Week on site, cause even when the schedule is sometimes downright frantic, it also has that magic that you only get to experience once you’re in Paris, in the show you have been waiting for and experiencing it surrounded by people that are passionate about fashion. However I think the decision to go online with this events, reflects the capacity we have to adapt and innovate, even when the circumstances are not the ones we want.
This will be the first time ever that the shows will be open almost to everyone as everyone will have access to videos, interviews and mini documentaries, with interactive material that the public in general will have access to. So, even if you didn’t have in your plans going to FWHC, you’ll still be able to experiencing it, even if you can’t be in the actual catwalks.

I’m actually excited to see Dior’s collection on Monday, along with Ralph & Russo; Tuesday Chanel will present its collection and on Wednesday we´ll get to see Valentino among other wonderful and iconic brands. I’m sure that even if I’m not going to be running from one show to the other, the time difference with Paris, will prove to be a different challenging situation.
The content will be available at Hautecouture.fhcm.paris/ where you can check the calendar to see the shows that will be presenting, and I don’t know, maybe we’ll be seeing the exact same shows at the exact same times! I’d love to know your opinions of the shows, so why don’t you send me a DM or message so we can all talk about our favorite pieces?

Women have a very special relationship with makeup, it helps us out to amplify our beauty and we have been using it since centuries ago, for example Greek women used charcoal as eyeshadow and white powder to lighten their skin. Some people criticize using makeup saying that it’s an attempt to hide behind a “mask” and that is related to confidence issues, I think that in some cases that might be true, but a lot of us wear makeup because we love it and can be as confident with or without it.
For me, makeup is another way to express myself, just as fashion. Through makeup I can change the way I look giving a wide variety of options: I can choose an everyday, very light look or I can choose a very dramatic sexy look. And like a lot of women, I’ve personally experienced the empowerment of wearing a red lipstick and knowing that I look great!
Some of you have been asking me about some tips for doing my makeup and I really want to share with you some very useful tips that I’ve learned from some of the best makeup artists that I’ve had the pleasure to work with. While I was writing this, I realized that I, in fact, have a lot of useful tips, so I decided to make this a two-part post so you can have all those tips! And without further delay here they are:

- Before applying your makeup, take a moment to appreciate the “you” without makeup, fall in love with your features as they are uniquely yours.
- Try to get in the habit of using your makeup time to drink a glass of water (or two)
- Be sure to apply your makeup in a well-lit area, meaning make sure you have light on both sides of your face. Applying your makeup in front of a window is a great idea!
- Pick one feature you want to emphasize and the go for it
- Good brushes, like good makeup are worth the investment.
- If you’re dealing with a pimple or a breakout, apply a couple of eyedrops to the irritated spot. This will reduce the redness a little… but it’s nor acne killer, it’s just a temporary fix so you can cover it more easily with makeup.
- If you want a smooth, flawless finish on your skin, blend, blend and blend. The best blending is achieved by moving your brush in a circular motion.
- When applying your foundation remember that you don’t want people to see it when you leave your house!
- To choose the right color for your foundation match it to the color of skin of your collar bone or chest, not on your neck as it is lighter.
- You can apply some contouring underneath the tip of the nose to give the illusion of shortening the nose.

- To find the apples of your cheeks, simply smile!
- Applying blush on the apple of the cheeks makes up the face more youthful, applying blush under the cheekbones slims the face and makes it appear drawn.
- Cream blush can be used on the lips for a softer and more natural look.
- When lining your lips, you can also use a pencil that’s labeled as “eyebrow pencil”, if you like the color, you can use it for lining your lips, in fact, it might last longer!
- Always be sure to line directly on the lip border or just inside it, but never outside the lips!
- When choosing your eye shadows try to pick the ones that contrast with your eye color, instead of trying to match the color of your eyes.
- For eyelashes that stay curled, hold down the eyelash curler for a count of 20 and then apply mascara immediately.
- You can warm up your eyelash curler by rubbing the part you apply to the lahes back and forth between your fingers
- Don’t pump the wand into the mascara as that incorporates air into the product and dries it out. Instead swirl the wand in the tube.
- When applying liquid eyeliner first remove the excess liquid on the palm of your hand, so that it’s not so wet and you can have more control when applying the line.
- If you mess up your liquid liner, just grab a q-tip, put a drop of corrector and wipe away the liner.
- Sometimes you can accentuate your eyes just with false eyelashes instead of putting eye shadow.
- If you want your makeup to last longer, spay a hydrating mist after you apply your setting powder.

What do you think? Do you have your own useful tips for make up? It’d be great if you’d share them so we all can learn more tips!
